I accepted the nomination as your Chapter President with gratitude for the confidence it implies, and with a deep sense of the responsibility it imposes. I strongly endorse the principles set forth in the bylaws and Blacks In Government Inc. (BIG) as a whole.
It is my hope that you are inspired to take advantage of this tremendous opportunity. BIG is a organization focused on promoting equity, excellence and opportunity at all levels of government service.
Becoming a member of BIG is the first step. The second step is affiliating with a local Chapter, this is very important and ultimately your responsibility. It's at the Chapter level you gain your own personal sense of accomplishment and learn your true value and purpose.
Lastly, it is my hope that you participate, by learning to lead or to lead. And please don't leave anyone behind, invite your co-workers, friends and family to take advantage of this opportunity.
